An Altoona woman is facing firearm charges after police found a pistol in her purse. Reportedly 21-year-old Emily Rae Huber failed to stop at the intersection of 11th Street and 7th Avenue, on Tuesday afternoon, causing an accident. When police arrived at the scene of the accident they retrieved her purse, per her request, and started looking for her ID, when they discovered a small pistol. Later authorities logged the gun into evidence and no serial number could be found. Instead, a message was stamped over the location where a serial number should have been. Also an inventory search of Huber’s vehicle turned up white powder and pills, which were seized.  Authorities say, the powder tested positive for meth, the pills were identified as amphetamine and dextroamphetamine. Huber was arraigned yesterday on felony charges of carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm without a serial number, along with various drug charges. She is currently in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing is slated for May 8th.
