UPMC has announced they are going to lay off one thousand employees due to on-going “post-pandemic challenges.” In a statement released yesterday, officials said the layoffs will likely come in the form of closing open positions or eliminating certain “non-clinical” staff members. UPMC officials did not specify when the layoffs would begin or what locations would be affected.
