A Ligonier man is facing charges following a standoff with authorities from this past weekend. Court records show an arraignment hearing on counts including aggravated assault and strangulation was held for 47-year-old Thomas Crary yesterday. Ligonier Valley police were called to a home on Terrace Road around 4:15 Sunday afternoon after a woman reported that Crary tried to throw her over a second-floor railing and choked her until she lost consciousness. Local authorities called in Pennsylvania State Police to assist after Crary reportedly refused to come outside. The standoff eventually ended after he surrendered around 1:30 Monday morning.
