Pennsylvania lawmakers are looking at some targeted changes for the state’s universities to try and grow the state’s economy. The Senate Education Committee met yesterday to talk about scholarships for in-demand degrees, aid for out-of-state students to come to Pennsylvania, and a look to boost dual-enrollment programs. State Senator Dave Argall says Pennsylvania, like other states, is looking at a demographic dip, falling enrollments, and a potential worker shortage. He says the state needs to do something now, before it’s too late.
