Sky-gazers who are willing to get up early are in for a somewhat rare treat this week. The Eta Aquarid meteor shower is set to peak over the weekend. Astronomers are calling this year’s shower an “outburst”, meaning more meteors, with those of us in North America possibly seeing them streak across the sky at a rate of about one per minute. The next outburst for the Eta Aquarids is not happening until 2046. The best times to look for shooting stars will be in the hours between 4:00 a.m. and dawn tomorrow through Monday morning.
