A Somerset County therapist is facing charges today following an investigation into allegations she repeatedly sexually assaulted one of her patients. Police reportedly received several Childline reports regarding 30 year old Kayla Howard of Berlin who is alleged to have had inappropriate contact and conversations with multiple juveniles. Authorities say last month, they spoke to a 14 year old boy who told them that Howard allegedly performed sex acts on him 7 or 8 times during several therapy sessions. Authorities say the victim described Howard as an “authority figure” and stated that she reportedly told him that if he refused to engage in the sexual acts, she would report him for “refusing to talk to her.” Howard is facing felony charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual sexual intercourse and numerous other offenses. Her arraignment is pending.
