A Cambria County man accused of threatening to shoot children and police officers has been arrested. Authorities say 41 year old Alberto Ortego of Salix, is facing numerous charges after he allegedly threatened to shoot a woman, her children, and her parents over a period of a week. The victim told police she did not know why he made the threats only that he “snapped.” When the victim told Ortega she was calling the police, he threatened to shoot them as well. During the incident Ortega reportedly tried to retrieve firearms from his gun safe. Ortega was arraigned on Monday and is facing charges that include terroristic threats, and endangering the welfare of a child, among others. He has been placed in the Cambria County Prison in lieu of $300,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 16th.
