State’s Two Largest Political Parties Now Closer in Number

New numbers from the Pennsylvania Department of State show registered Republicans are closing in on registered Democrats in the Keystone State. Bucknell University Professor Chris Ellis says the political parties are now closer in number than they’ve been in more than ten years. Democrats currently outnumber Republicans by only about 400-thousand people. Ellis says many of the newly-registered GOP members acted as Democrats in the past because their families had voted that way for years. He adds that there’s also been a jump in independent and third-party voters.
