Board members with the Altoona Area School District approved a preliminary budget last night that includes a 5% tax increase for the 2024-25 school year. The proposed increase would translate to an average yearly increase from $821 to $863 for district taxpayers. The budget will now be on display for 30 days, with a final vote expected next month.
