A 36 year old Johnstown woman has been arrested and charged after she set a mattress on fire inside a home early yesterday morning. Arrested was Sereda Ritter who allegedly claimed a male inside the home tried to beat her up and tried to set the house on fire. Upon further investigation, police say the male in the home, stated that Ritter threatened him and reportedly set the mattress on fire claiming “I’m gonna kill us both.” Authorities further noted the residence was a duplex home and a family of five lived on the other side. Ritter was taken into custody and charged with felony arson among other offenses. She was arraigned yesterday and is currently in the Cambria County Prison in lieu of bail.
