An 18 month old baby was taken to UPMC Altoona after the child was thrown so hard that the impact killed a Chihuahua the child landed on. According to the Altoona Police, the incident occurred at Evergreen Court in Altoona on Saturday night regarding a report of child abuse that a witness saw thru a bedroom window, while standing in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Reportedly, 34 year old Brian Rey Morales Gracia, was allegedly seen repeatedly hitting the baby before throwing the child. Gracia was charged with aggravated assault with extreme indifference, child endangerment and aggravated cruelty to animals, among others. He has been placed in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
