A Centre County woman has been sentenced to 40-80 months in state prison, for what police called a “horrific” case of elder abuse. In February, police arrested 53 year old Loretta Stokes-McClusick of Snow Shoe, following a months-long investigation into the abuse of an 84 year old woman. In 2022 the victim was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College with severe injuries, extreme weight loss and what was described as the lowest blood pressure ever seen in a patient at the hospital’s ER. Earlier this year, Stokes-McClusick pled no contest to a charge of neglecting care of a dependent person.
