The state Department of Human Services announced yesterday that it has entered into a settlement agreement with Blair County for improved operations at the Children, Youth and Families office.   Several weeks ago the county’s commissioners approved the proposed agreement but DHS had not yet signed on to the agreement, until now.  According to this negotiated agreement, the state is now issuing the CYF office a regular license that is valid for six months. The agreement also requires the county to continue to focus on operational improvements.  The state had issued several provisional licenses to CYF in recent years following multiple violations documented over a 12 month period that dated back to 2022.  Blair County Commissioners have pledged the county’s cooperation and commitment to improvements.
