State Lawmakers Considering One-Time Payments to PA Residents

State lawmakers are considering some options for what to do with a roughly 800-million-dollar budget surplus.  Officials are going over the commonwealth’s spending plan ahead of the June 30th budget deadline.  While appearing on the This Week in Pennsylvania program, State Senate Minority Leader Jay Costa said making a one-time lump sum payment to residents is one of the ideas for using the surplus dollars that officials are discussing.  Senate Republicans have also proposed a tax cut, going from three-point-zero-seven to two-point-eight percent.
