A State College man is charged with abuse of a corpse after he allegedly put the body of his deceased roommate inside a trash can and left it outside of an abandoned property in College Township. Authorities say 50 year old Christopher Hampton reportedly admitted to hiding the victim’s body in the trash can after the man overdosed in 2022. An autopsy later revealed the man died from a multidrug overdose of fentanyl, meth and xylazine. Hampton is currently in the Centre County Prison on unrelated charges and bail has been set at $10,000. He’s been charged with abuse of a corpse, theft and receiving stolen property.
