An Altoona woman has been arrested after fleeing from police and providing false information. She’s 40 year old Stephanie Baxter who was arraigned earlier this week on one count each of escape and flight to avoid apprehension, as well as one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. Baxter, who had an active felony warrant thru the Altoona Police Department was spotted earlier this week on 10th Street and 6th Avenue. When police attempted to approach her she allegedly told them she was not Baxter, and began running from the police. When the officer caught up with Baxter she then identified herself, using another name. Unable to post bond, Baxter was sent to the Blair County Prison. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 12th.
