Pennsylvania health officials are putting the word out following a multi-state salmonella outbreak. Federal officials say they’ve ID’d more than 162 cases in 25 states and the District of Columbia. As of yesterday, Pennsylvania was number one among those jurisdictions with 27 cases. Health investigators say more than a third of cases appear to have been linked to the consumption of cucumbers. Symptoms of a salmonella infection reportedly include diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps that can start within hours or days of consuming bacteria-tainted food.
