Blair and surrounding counties are gearing-up for a heat wave this week. The National Weather Service has already issued a Heat Advisory that runs from noon today thru 8 p.m. tomorrow. Forecasters say the highs today and tomorrow will range from 90-95 but the humidity will make it feel closer to 100. The hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses. It is advised to limit outdoor activity. Drink more water than normal, even if you are not thirsty. Use air conditioning or go to air conditioned spaces. Pet owners are also being urged to make sure their pets have plenty of water and shade, and do not leave a pet in a hot vehicle.  The heatwave is expected to continue through the weekend.
