DuBois Man Apprehended for Assaulting Fast Food Worker

A DuBois man who was wanted for the brutal beating of a Burger King employee has been arrested.  59 year old Richard Smeal was apprehended on Tuesday and is facing charges of  terroristic threats, robbery, theft and fleeing.  Smeal is accused of attacking a worker on June 11th after she refused to give him money she had taken to be deposited. When she refused, Smeal allegedly hit the woman in the head using an airsoft gun. When another car pulled into the parking lot, Smeal got in and escaped, however a witness was able to get the license number of the vehicle. An investigation led to the arrest of the driver of that car identified as 53 year old John Lentz Jr.  Both Smeal and Lentz are in the Clearfield County Prison in lieu of bail. Smeal is facing a preliminary hearing on June 28th.
