Millions of people are under heat alerts in the Northeast and Midwest. The heat is expected to continue in parts of those areas into the weekend. Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Vermont and Massachusetts, New Jersey and Delaware all have alerts in place. Large areas of New Jersey, Delaware, and Massachusetts are also dealing with sweltering temperatures. Here in Blair and surrounding counties the heat advisory continues thru tomorrow night at 8. With high temps and humidity, heat index values of 101 degrees can be expected. Heat illnesses can be common, so residents are urged to keep hydrated and limit outside activity.
