Penn State technical services employees will not be striking after union representatives and the university came to an agreement this weekend on a four year contract. Teamsters Local 8 posted on their Facebook page that a tentative deal had been reached with Penn State on behalf of nearly 2700 employees who work in the custodial, food and housing, and emergency medical response departments. Reportedly the deal includes a 20% wage increase. Last week, union members voted to strike if a deal wasn’t reached by yesterday.
