Two Altoona residents were injured yesterday in a fire that destroyed a home on the 1000 block of 6th Avenue. The fire broke out shortly after 4. Once city firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the home fully engulfed. The fire also spread to the attic and second floor of a neighboring home. The individuals who were injured were taken to UPMC Altoona with non-life threatening injuries. The Red Cross has been called in to help residents of the homes. An investigation is underway.
