Two K-9 officers with the Altoona Police Department will now be protected with ballistic vests thanks to a non-profit group called Brady’s K-9 Fund. The group is based in Strongsville, Ohio and helps K-9 officers across the country. The non-profit was founded by an 8-year-old boy several years ago who believed all officers, even those with tails, deserve protection. The two K-9 officers receiving the vests are named Pongo and Blue.
