An Altoona couple is behind bars today after a man was hospitalized with a stab wound to the stomach. Authorities say 57-year-old Keith Young Sr., and his 19-year-old girlfriend Daysha LaPenna, are accused of assaulting the victim on Tuesday evening after the three were drinking together at a local bar. Reportedly, Young became angry with the victim after he began flirting with his girlfriend. The three reportedly got into an altercation on North 5th Avenue in Juniata, when the victim was stabbed in the stomach. Police say the couple then fled the scene. After a brief standoff, the couple was taken into custody. Police also report they discovered drug paraphernalia, and cocaine at Young’s home. Both Young and LaPenna were arraigned on Wednesday on numerous charges including aggravated assault. Young was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, among other related charges. They are both in the Blair County Prison with bail set at $115,000 for Young, and $40,000 for LaPenna.
