An Altoona man has been arrested after police say he told a woman, he allegedly assaulted earlier, “I love you”, while hiding under a boat.  Altoona Police were called to the 2200 block of 9th Street on Sunday morning, when 40 year old Dustin Roeting reportedly began to get physical with a woman who was trying to leave.  Authorities say the two met through Facebook, and the woman came to Altoona from New York to meet him.  During their meeting, Roeting reportedly began to drink, and when she went to leave, he allegedly became physical with her. The victim told authorities he punched and kicked her, and pulled her hair.  During the altercation, Roeting was asked to leave the residence from another person inside the apartment.  While police were standing outside the residence, they heard a faint “I love you,” and that’s when they spotted Roeting, hiding under a boat in a nearby parking lot.  He was taken into custody and charged with strangulation, false imprisonment and numerous other counts. He has been placed in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
