code-orange

Various parts of Pennsylvania are under a Code Orange air quality alert, due to ozone pollution, and that’s according to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Those counties currently include Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Bucks, Fayette, Washington, Westmoreland, Dauphin, Delaware, Chester, Cumberland, Lancaster, Lebanon, Montgomery and York Counties, along with the Philadelphia area.  A Code Orange alert is called when the air is viewed as posing a risk to those who may have sensitive systems.  The department recommends that young children, the elderly, and those with respiratory problems, limit outdoor activities.
