Governor Shapiro has declared a disaster emergency for 21 counties, many of which are in Central Pennsylvania, and one of those being Bedford. The declaration comes as a response to the severe storms and flooding from tropical storm Debby on Friday. About $2 million in state funds will be issued to help with the initial response of emergency personnel. The proclamation will remain in place for 21 days unless extended by the General assembly.
