Here’s another sign of just how bad Pennsylvania’s drug problem is: The state is sending thousands of xylazine wound care kits to groups across the state. Xylazine care kits are designed to better treat the infections that people get when they use xylazine to get high. The drug is usually an animal sedative, but it has become popular among drug users. The Pennsylvania Department of Health says it is sending 50 thousand care kits to non-profits and community health departments. The hope is to make the kits available to addicts, who can then prevent infections from becoming deadly.
