The Pittsburgh Pirates say a verbal deal has been reached in player’s union suit over image use by the team, and Sheetz.  In June, the team and Sheetz announced a partnership in which the Sheetz logo would appear on the team’s uniform.  On Wednesday, a subsidiary of the MLB Players Association filed a lawsuit against the Pirates and Sheetz, alleging they both improperly marketed the deal on social media by using images of various players including pitching phenom Paul Skenes.  The suit alleged the use of the images violated state law on name and likeness, and a licensing agreement should have been obtained.  According to the Associated Press, a settlement is reportedly in the works, and yesterday the Pirates announced that a verbal deal had been reached with the MLBPA.
