Work Begins on Ghost Town Trail Due to Damage by Tropcial Storm Debby

Crews began work yesterday repairing a portion of the Ghost Town Trail that was heavily damaged by tropical storm Debby.  The work is concentrated on an area between Twin Rocks to Nanty Glo, and Twin Rocks to Vintondale.  Destruction to the trail, that runs thru portions of Cambria and Indiana Counties, is estimated at nearly $400,000.  Damage included washouts, sinkholes, and a large drain pipe being exposed.  It is hoped reimbursements through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency will be made to cover the price tag.  Nearly 200,000 people use the trail annually.
