The FBI says a “definitive motive” in the assassination attempt on former President Trump has not yet been established. The agency provided an update Wednesday on the investigation of the July 13th shooting at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally that killed one and injured two others. Officials said the shooter searched for information on both the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention, possibly suggesting the Trump rally was a “target of opportunity.” The FBI added the shooter “looked at any number of events and targets” before “hyperfocusing” on the Trump rally. Earlier this week, a House task force toured the site of the shooting looking to gain an understanding of what happened.
