Code Orange Air Quality Alert Issued For Western PA Counties

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange air quality alert for parts of western Pennsylvania.  Today’s alert covers Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties.  A Code Orange alert is called when the air is viewed as posing a risk to those who may have sensitive systems.  The department recommends that young children, the elderly, and those with respiratory problems limit outdoor activities today.
