A handful of charities across Pennsylvania have a bit more money thanks to people who never claimed their gift cards. State Treasurer Stacy Garrity last week said her office donated 21 thousand-dollars in unclaimed gift cards to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Pennsylvania, Special Olympics Pennsylvania, and the Veterans Multi-Service Center. The gift cards are part of the treasurer’s office’s unclaimed property operation. Garrity says her office couldn’t find the owners, so they were donated to get some use out of them.
