Nearly 60 cats, that had been severely neglected, were rescued Wednesday night, from a home in Windber. Rescuing the cats were the Somerset County Humane Police, Windber Borough Police and the nonprofit Ninth Life Rescue Center. Reportedly, the home, located on 21st Street, was in deplorable condition. Many of the cats have serious health related issues. The Somerset County Humane Police are in charge of the investigation, and criminal charges are pending.
