The FBI has released a statement concerning recent threats to schools across western Pennsylvania.  Penns Manor Area School District in Indiana County, was one of several in the region that have had bomb threats called in, with one also reported at the Ligonier Valley High School Wednesday, that forced the cancellation of classes.  Many of the threats, including the ones at Penns Manor and Ligonier Valley were unfounded. There were also several threats made at schools in Cambria County earlier in the week.  The agency says they are working with law enforcement partners to help where appropriate.  The FBI says those who are responsible will be thoroughly investigated, and the FBI Pittsburgh office “will immediately engage with local, state and federal partners to leverage the full extent of the law.  In Penns Manor, the suspect who made the threat was apprehended and is facing charges from State Police and disciplinary action from the school.  The person behind the threat at Ligonier Valley remains unknown, but that investigation is continuing.
