A Blair County inmate, who escaped the county prison in December, pled guilty yesterday to charges in his case, while a jury was waiting to begin the first day of his scheduled trial in Blair County Court. 33-year-old Robert Tilghman pled guilty to numerous charges yesterday, including conspiracy, drug delivery, escape and theft. By pleading guilty he refused to accept a negotiated sentence of 20-40 years. He is now scheduled to be sentenced in December before a judge, taking a gamble that he will get lesser time. If Tilghman were to receive the maximum sentence at a judge’s discretion, he could face up to 170 years behind bars.
