Altoona Man Arrested for Pulling Gun on Another at Sheetz Store

An Altoona man is behind bars today after he was accused of almost running another man off the road while driving drunk, and later threatening to shoot the man at the Sheetz Store on Old 6th Avenue Road in Altoona.  Arrested was 24-year old Robert Pope Jr.  When police confronted Pope, they discovered a .22 caliber revolver in his car.  Reportedly the revolver’s hammer was cocked back, and ready to fire.  Pope has been charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor terroristic threats, DUI, and numerous other related offenses.  Pope is in the Blair County Prison.  Bail has been set at $75,000.  His preliminary hearing is slated for October 3rd.
