Police in Clearfield County have arrested a 24-year-old Bigler man who planned to take a 14-year-old girl to South Carolina after he allegedly kidnapped her. Arrested was Christopher Swoope who is currently in the Clearfield County Prison facing numerous charges including kidnapping of a minor, corruption of minors, and other related counts. Police got word of the incident after a man called 911 and said his daughter ran off with an adult. The girl reportedly had been communicating with Swoope for several weeks through Snapchat. When police stopped Swoope’s vehicle, the girl was not with him. She was later found at another residence where he allegedly dropped her off. The girl reportedly told authorities she was planning to go to South Carolina with Swoope for two months, and claimed he told her, he wanted to get her pregnant. Swoope’s bail has been set at $100.00. A preliminary hearing for Swoope has been scheduled for today.
