A bill that would lift the prohibition on Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania is headed to the House floor for a vote, after passing the Game and Fisheries Committee on Tuesday. During a lengthy committee meeting, members voted largely along party lines to pass Senate Bill 67, which gives the Pennsylvania Game Commission the authority to institute Sunday hunting on any dates it sees fit. Currently, Sunday hunting is allowed for one day in each of the following seasons: archery, firearms bear and firearms deer. A spokesperson for Governor Josh Shapiro said the governor’s office is monitoring action on the bill, but did not say whether it has Shapiro’s support.
