Residents in Western PA were in awe after spotting the Northern Lights this week. Residents from Indiana, Butler, and Allegheny, counties and others reported seeing the Northern Lights late Monday night and early Tuesday morning. The lights were visible thanks to a geomagnetic storm, which sends solar wind towards Earth. Seeing the Northern Lights as far south as Pittsburgh is rare, but there has been several geomagnetic storms this year which have allowed the Northern Lights to be visible in the area.
