A Pennsylvania Amish family was hospitalized after eating poisonous mushrooms. Officials responded to the scene in Peach Bottom Township in York County on Friday, after 11 members of the family became sick. The family told first responders they had picked and eaten wild mushrooms not knowing they were poisonous. All 11 members of the family were transported to the hospital and released after being treated. The CDC recommends exercising caution when looking for, or purchasing wild mushrooms. They stress the importance of not eating wild mushrooms unless you are 100% certain they are safe to eat. In recent years, mushroom poisonings have been on the rise.
