The candidates for Pennsylvania Attorney General say they do not plan on later running for governor. During last night’s debate, both Democrat Eugene DePasquale and Republican Dave Sunday said they plan to serve all eight years if elected twice, and have no intention of running for higher office. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was Attorney General for six years before his election in 2022. Issues debated between the two included how to reduce gun violence, and stopping the spread of dangerous drugs. Sunday is a Navy veteran who has served as prosecutor in York County for 15 years. DePasquale is an attorney, and a former two-term Auditor General of Pennsylvania.
