Although there are thousands of Amish living in the all-important swing state of Pennsylvania, only a few are known to vote. However, The Republican Party has launched a campaign in the state using billboards that read, “Pray for God’s Mercy for Our Nation,” in an effort to encourage the Amish to vote. Although many within the Amish community don’t vote, a small minority do, and because Pennsylvania is such an important swing state, the Amish are being targeted this year to cast their vote. Republicans are not only using billboards as a way to reach the Amish, but they’re going door-to-door, canvassing and attending public meetings. There are currently over 92,000 Amish of all ages, living in Pennsylvania.
