The Trump campaign says the former president was looking out for the media when he was talking about assassination attempts targeting him during his rally at Lancaster Airport. During the Sunday morning event, Trump said, “To get me, someone would have to shoot through the fake news, and I don’t mind that so much.” In a statement, Trump’s campaign spokesman said he stated the media was in danger and should have had a glass protective shield as well. The spokesman added, “There can be no other interpretation of what was said.”
