The Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona, owner and operator of the Horseshoe Curve, has announced the reopening of the Horseshoe Curve Funicular. The funicular has been out of service since 2020, but will once again begin to transport visitors beginning tomorrow. According to a prepared statement from the museum, the reopening of the funicular is a momentous occasion. The statement adds the accomplishment would not have been possible without the dedication and support of generous donors, skilled technicians and licensed professionals. In the past 4 years the funicular has undergone extensive upgrades. The funicular will open for regular service beginning tomorrow at 9 a.m. and visitors can enjoy a special admission rate on Saturday for just $10.
