Republican Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick has claimed victory in his election against long-time Democratic Senator Bob Casey. This victory marks the 53rd Senate seat Republicans have captured in winning back the majority. While Casey enjoyed early leads in the polling for most of the year, the race quickly tightened in the closing weeks. Casey has held the seat since 2008.
