Still no victor in the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania between Democratic incumbent Bob Casey, and his Republican challenger Dave McCormick, however staff workers with McCormick reportedly are confident his over 27,000 vote lead will hold. According to the Patriot News in Harrisburg, the last large batches of votes from Democratic Philadelphia appear to be in, and the remaining ballots are from regions that are expected to break for McCormick. Campaign officials report that most of the uncounted votes are from Cambria County, where a system malfunction created a delay in results. The Patriot News reports that officials with the McCormick campaign are confident their lead will continue to hold when the counts from Cambria County are finalized. If the .4 percent margin between the two continues to stand, it could trigger an automatic recount under the state’s election code. Election managers in Harrisburg are not saying when they expect to have all votes counted.
