Two women charged in August, after dead animals were found throughout their Altoona home, waived their charges yesterday. Twenty-two-year old Rachael Feaster of Bedford, and 24-year-old Cassidy Berkheimer of Altoona are facing nearly 100 charges of animal abuse. In June, Altoona fire crews responded to a call on the 2400 block of 10th Street, and once there noticed a foul odor. Two dogs were saved from the fire, but officials found 30 dead animals including dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets, throughout the home. Authorities say many of the animals had been dead for months before the fire. Authorities said at the time, that the home was in deplorable condition, and littered with animal carcasses, feces, urine, and trash. Both woman are to be formally arraigned on December 20th.
