An Altoona man is behind bars after he allegedly cracked another man’s skull during an altercation earlier this week. Arrested was 61-year-old Terry Merritts who allegedly beat the victim with a stick over an argument involving baseball cards. Reportedly the victim sustained a serious head injury. Police say the victim confronted Merritts about a “discrepancy” over the location of where baseball cards had been placed, and that was when he was allegedly attacked. Merritts is charged with numerous felonies including aggravated assault. He is currently in the Blair County Prison. Bail has been set at $150,000.
