Some PA Dems Admit to Counting Illegal Ballots

As the contested Pennsylvania Senate race has triggered a recount, Democratic officials in a number of blue counties are now openly admitting to counting disqualified ballots.  This was done in defiance of court orders and state law.  The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled before the election, that mail ballots lacking formally required signatures or dates should not be counted, however that didn’t stop Democratic officials in Philadelphia, along with those in Bucks, Montgomery and Centre Counties from ignoring the court order.  The Associated Press called the race for Republican Senator-elect Dave McCormick who currently holds a 26,000 vote lead over Democratic incumbent Bob Casey.  Casey has refused to concede and has insisted that every vote be counted.  Bucks County Commissioner Democrat Diane Ellis-Marseglia said last week that, “People violate laws anytime they want.  So, for me, if I violate this law, it’s because I want the court to pay attention. There’s nothing more important than counting votes.”  Meantime, the state-mandated recount must be completed by noon on November 26th.   State officials have said they don’t expect the recount to change the outcome of the race.
